Sustainable Forest Management Solutions

August 1991 - Commercial Thinning Trial at Paul Lake

Forestry Services

At E.A. Strimbold Ltd., forestry isn’t just our history—it’s our foundation. With decades of experience across British Columbia and Alberta, we’ve developed a reputation for safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible harvesting.

  • Pioneers in Selective Harvesting
In the early 1990s, we introduced one of the first harvesters and forwarders to British Columbia—helping to pioneer cut-to-length logging and selective harvesting in the region. This equipment transformed the way forests could be managed, allowing us to minimize ecological impact while improving operational efficiency and safety.

  • Cutting Permit & Volume Management
We manage annual volumes exceeding 120,000 m³ and offer full-service forest license and cutting permit administration, tailored to the needs of industry, Indigenous partners, and private landowners.

  • Focused on Forest Health
Every cut block is approached with long-term forest health in mind. Our silviculture decisions, operational planning, and post-harvest strategies are rooted in sustainability, biodiversity, and regulatory compliance.

Woodlot Stewardship

E.A. Strimbold Ltd. and its partners manage three active Woodlot Licenses in the Lakes District, guided by a long-term vision of responsible land use and ecological integrity. Our woodlots are more than managed forests—they’re living examples of integrated land stewardship.

  • Sustainable Forestry in Action
Through selective harvesting, reforestation, and long-term planning, our woodlots contribute to both timber production and environmental health. We balance commercial use with biodiversity, watershed protection, and ecosystem resilience.

  • Integrated Land Use for Fire Resilience
Our woodlot operations combine cattle grazing, forest thinning, and fuel load reduction to lower wildfire risk. Strategic fencing, interconnected road networks, and firebreaks not only support land management but also serve as critical infrastructure for initial fire response and containment.

  • Commitment to Stewardship
With decades of experience in forestry, agriculture, and resource management, our team brings a deep respect for the land. We continuously improve our practices to support healthy forests, resilient ecosystems, and safe communities.

Forest Restoration

E.A. Strimbold Ltd. is committed to supporting forest recovery and long-term land resilience. We have participated in wildfire restoration projects across northern BC—rehabilitating damaged landscapes through a combination of debris removal, erosion control, selective harvesting, and access redevelopment. Our work helps reestablish ecological function, promote natural regeneration, and ensure the land is safe and productive for future use.
