Marvin Strimbold is a hands-on leader, trailblazer, and lifelong learner who has spent over four decades shaping British Columbia’s forest industry. As the President of E.A. Strimbold Ltd., he has built one of the region’s most respected integrated forest companies—leading projects that span forestry, agriculture, roadbuilding, and utility infrastructure across northern BC.
Driven by a passion for the land and a commitment to doing things right, Marvin is known for embracing innovation early—from introducing some of the harvester & forwarder machines in BC to developing coordinated land-use strategies that align forestry, agriculture, and wildfire mitigation. He thrives on challenge and is never afraid to take on complex projects in remote or rugged environments.
Marvin is also deeply invested in the future of sustainable land management. He has been a long-time supporter of the Woodlot Licence Program and formerly served as President of the Woodlot Product Development Council, helping to shape key policy and funding tools that benefit licensees to this day.
Whether it's building bridges, managing woodlots, restoring watersheds, or mentoring the next generation, Marvin brings energy, experience, and integrity to every aspect of his work.
Karl Strimbold is a lawyer, manager, and advocate for inclusive, sustainable development in northern British Columbia. As the eldest son of the Strimbold family, Karl combines deep local roots with a professional career grounded in legal expertise and community-driven values.
Karl grew up on a working farm west of Burns Lake, where he developed a strong connection to the land and a lifelong interest in agriculture and natural resource stewardship. After graduating from LDSS, he earned a BSc in Chemistry with a minor in Biochemistry from UNBC in 2007. He went on to receive his law degree from the University of New Brunswick in 2011, was called to the Ontario bar in 2012, and to the British Columbia bar in 2014. Karl returned home to practice law in Burns Lake and took over a longstanding local practice in 2016.
In addition to his legal career, Karl plays an active role in his family’s business operations, providing strategic guidance on land use, forest management, and community partnerships. He is particularly committed to advancing projects that integrate agriculture and forestry with long-term environmental planning, wildfire mitigation, and Indigenous partnership development.
Karl brings a thoughtful, collaborative approach to everything he does—whether it’s navigating complex legal frameworks, mentoring local youth through sports, or working with Indigenous and non-Indigenous partners to ensure fair, respectful access to opportunities in the region.
In his spare time, Karl enjoys spending time with his wife and children, playing and coaching basketball, and taking every chance to enjoy the outdoors he calls home.
